Steam boilers andengines will, in the second and third terms, consider thestrength, construction, and use of boilers, and the mechanismand details of engines and valve gears. Mechanical engi-neering, in the third term will include tests of boilers and en-gines for efficiency, pumps for duty, and special originalwork, by the most advanced students, the expectation beingthat such original work may be wrought into material for agraduating thesis.
