The Northwestern Greening originated in WaupacaCounty, Wisconsin, and was first introduced by E. in 1872. It is widely disseminated central states and is one of the leading varieties inmany sections. It is also planted to a considerable extentin some of the larger orchards of the Shenandoah-Cumber-land district and some of the irrigated sections of theNorthwest where it finds little favor, however.
