Crop Irrigation Channel

Part of a comprehensive irrigation system that starts high above the village of Lapta gathering water from the mountains and natural springs. The water is then fed via a network of channels to the orange and lemon groves that cover the hillsides down to the coast. Growers pay a fee for this service as and when water is required. The water is then fed to individual groves by operating small sluice gates at junctions of the channells to direct the flow.
