A model 1909 officer's shashqa, with a superimposed Order of St. Anne for bravery Brass hilt with the cipher "N II" on the pommel cap. Fluted brass grip. The Cyrillic inscription, "For Bravery" is engraved on both sides of the knuckle-bow (minimal remnants of gilding). The obverse languet bears the enamelled insignia of the Order of St. Anne (chipped). Two rivet holes under the pommel for attaching a device of the Order of St. George(?).
