El Pindal cave paintings. These paintings, mostly animals and abstract signs in red, are located in the El Pindal Cave in Ribadedeva, in the Asturias region of Spain. They date from between 21,000 and 16,500 years ago. This one is said to represent a horse. The cave art was first discovered in 1908 and is thought to have been produced by the Solutrean culture of the Upper Palaeolithic. The El Pindal cave is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site covering the 'Paleolithic Cave Art of Northern Spain'.
