Marines, Sailors and Master Labor Contractors with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron (H&HS) fuels division conducted the proof of concept in order to test for safety and ensure all equipment functioned properly. Pending approval from the air station’s commanding officer and the Defense Logistics Agency, the rebuilt hot refuel pits will allow aircraft to rapidly refuel without powering down their engines, which increases operational readiness.
