While conducting the funeral cortege of Mrs. SamuelHeilman to the Hill church, he was suddenly translatedto his reward in heaven, on the morning of June 14,1889, his horse and carriage being struck by a fast ex-press on the Lebanon Valley R. R. at a crossing nearthe Hill church. . His name and life have foundlasting place in the hearts of those who so long enjoyedhis faithful ministry. The following epitaph tells thebrief story of his services and death:. Pastor of First Reformed Cliurchfrom Apiil i, 1851, to the day ofhis death, June 14, by a railroad train whileon his way to the burial of oneof his members. AGED72 Years, 6 Months, 28 Days.
