A spectacular area of coast, popular with walkers, climbers and canoeists
Penrhyn Mawr near Holyhead, Anglesey known locally as the range. This is a spectacular area of coastline with rocky reefs, inlets and cliffs. It is part of the Wales and Anglesey Coastal Paths and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Now it is popular with hikers and walkers, whist the cliffs are used by climbers and the sea canoeists. In the days of sailing ships this coast was treacherous should a gale force the ship towards the shore.
