IS . DEPERTET . OVT . OF . THIS The inscription on the other stone, tells of a george ogilbie, whodied in 1643. There are still Ogilvies in the glen who claim to belong to the samefamily. It has on it an incised cross with top and arms bevelled,on a base of four steps. On either side of the cross above the arms arethe Gothic letters & JB> and below two objects somewhat resemblinga heart and a knife or ploughshare. In the crossing under the tower two stones have been uncovered,the more important of these is Fig. 76. The name of jacobus viot(wyot) appears on a deed of 1500-1 (Charters of the Priory of Beauly).
