Ruins of the Governors Palace at the port city of Massawa in Eritrea
The Imperial Palace at Massawa was built as a private residence in 1872 for Swiss adventurer Werner Munzinger. He was an explorer of the Horn of Africa and became French consul in Eritrea. The building was used as a palace by Haile Selassie.
