This fungus is widely distributed, occurring on the bean {Phasco-lus vulgaris) and other related species. It is also reported in south-ern latitudes on relatives of the cowpea, such as Dolichos oniatiiSy 398 FUNGOUS DISEASES OF PLANTS Lablab vulgaris, Vigna marginata, etc. The fungus commonlyappears late in the season, and it is often destructive to foliage,causing early maturity and lessened production of the beans.
