OAK HARBOR, Wash. (December 19, 2017) Aviation Structural Mechanic 3rd Class Rowdy Murphy, assigned to the "Skinny Dragons" of Patrol Squadron (VP) 4, uses a hydraulic jack to lift a P-8A Poseidon aircraft off the ground in order to perform a landing gear free-fall check during an A-10 inspection. All P-8A Poseidon aircaft undergo comprehensive A-10 inspections every 2 1/2 years. VP-4 is currently conducting its Fleet Readiness Training Plan in preparation for their upcoming deployment.
