220709-N-EI127-1300 PACIFIC OCEAN (July, 9, 2022) – Sailors conduct a debriefed on their firefighting efforts during a general quarters drill aboard amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) July 9. Damage control drills are used both in port and underway to ensure that Sailors have the proper training to combat any casualty that may arise. Makin Island is currently underway conducting routine operations in 3rd Fleet.
