It has all or nearly all tin various shades of the type—scarlet, orange scarlet, apricot, etc.—but with no black blotches at the base of the petals. The flowers are thus all self-coloured, the difference being comparable with that between the Shirley Poppy and its pro- totype the Papaver Rhaeus. We have no doubt that the Feltham strain has a great future as a brilliantly decorative border plant. Price Pkt., 25c. Mahoney—Maroon shaded crimson. Pkt., 15c. Pkt., Papaver Orientale "The ; NEW HOLLYHOCK DOUBLE "IMPERATOR" This splendid new Hollyhock, which arrests the attention of the beholder as something entirely origin- al. Rising to a stately height it bears flowers 5^4 to 6^2 inches across, consisting of wide outer petals ele- gantly frilled and deeply fringed, in the centre of which appears a very double rosette about 2 inches across, the whole suggesting a crested Begonia on a giant scale. The colouring includes various tints of great beauty, such as cerise salmon with centre of cream reflecting rose; delicate pink with centre of rose flushed yellow; light yellow flushed rose with canary yellow centre; but there are many other charm- ing combinations of different tints.
