KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. - STS-1 stands framed in vegetation lining the superhighay-wide crawlerway linking the Vehicle Assembly Building with the twin pads of Launch Complex 39. The first Space Shuttle assembly emerged from the VAB shortly after 8 today for the journey to Complex 39's Pad A. The Shuttle was on the hardstand at Pad A approximately seven and a half hours after rollout began. Launch is scheduled for no eariler than March 1981.
