Recruits from Hotel Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, perform the fireman’s carry during a combat fitness test at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Jan. 18. This is part of the maneuver under fire portion of the event, which simulates carrying a wounded individual in combat. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Hotel Company is scheduled to graduate Feb. 9.
