Quartzite, one of the rocks most resistant to weathering is all that remains of very ancient sandstone. individual grains of sand can be seen. Transported by the earliest of glacial advances it has typical ice transport shape and markings. Fairly rare, pre-Kansas till rock gives insight to ancient ice ages.
