The back plate for a jousting armour, German, circa 1500/10. Assembled from old pieces, comprising a three plate upper part with lightly indicated shoulder blades and offset border stripes and a loin guard with seven flutes riveted to it. Continuous lining rivets with remnants of the original leather. The right side plate has heavy corrosion damage on the edge, the stomach and shoulder straps are replaced.
