This the missionaries did, and while they were there an old 472 Life and Light \_Nove?nber man, the uncle of one and the grandfather of another of the party whichhad visited Tientsin, died after a brief illness, professing his faith in theSaviour, and rejoicing in hope of eternal life. The Chinese preacher from the mission at Tientsin, Mr. Chia, touringin this vicinity, heard that there was in one of the villages near by aDoctrine-Lover named Hou (Ho), who might be interested in the newdoctrines. Mr. Chia went to see and the Doctrine-Lover soon.
