Meiji Shrine (明治神宮), located in Shibuya, Tokyo, is the Shinto shrine that is dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shōken. Many religious rites and wedding ceremonies can be observed there. The photo shows a Kannushi performing a religious rites. A kannushi (神主), also called shinshoku (神職), is the person responsible for the maintenance of a Shinto shrine (jinja) as well as for leading worship of a given kami.
