A rare open day at The British Engineerium, Hove. The Grade II listed British Engineerium, originally named Goldstone Pumping Station, houses the original fully working beam engine, lovingly restored 1859 Corliss steam engine and 1890s steam-powered fire engine amongst other exhibits, which were joined by several other steam powered vehicles for the day. It is currently closed for renovation and construction bar an annual open day. In 2006 local businessman and philanthropist Mike Holland rescued the building from ruin with the aim of restoring it and enhancing it as hub for historical education. Full reopening is anticipated for 2013/2014. More information at
