Michael Collins, Éamon de Valera and Harry Boland in conversation prior to the signing of the Anglo-Irish Treaty. Collins, supported the Treaty, whereas Boland opposed the Anglo-Irish Treaty along with de Valera, and in the ensuing Irish Civil War, they sided with the Anti-Treaty IRA. De Valera served as the political leader of Anti-Treaty Sinn Féin until 1926, when he, along with many supporters, left the party to set up Fianna Fáil.
