It can be operated from the floor, without beingplaced in a pit, the same as a standard screw press. Thismachine is capable of making from six hundred to eighthundred saggers per ten hours (according to the height),of any of the size saggers given below at a manufacturingcost of less than one cent each. The saggers are made fromone piece of clay thus insuring an equal density throughout. For the operation of this press it requires two men andone boy, one man to operate the hand wheel, one to operatethe die and the boy to cut off the clay as it comes from thepug mill and remove the finished saggers to drying room. We have equipped a large proportion of the tile andelectric porcelain plants with this type press and they aregiving perfect satisfaction. A list of users will be given uponapplication.
