5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (May 31, 2017) Sailors attached to the guided-missile cruiser USS Philippine Sea (CG 58) secure barrels for transfer to the fast combat support ship USNS Supply (T-AOE-6) during a replenishment at sea (RAS). Philippine Sea, part of the George Bush Carrier Strike Group, is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
