Cours Dajot public garden with an beautiful view of the harbour and the Château de Brest from the 500-metre esplanade high behind the commercial port, Brest, Brittany, France. is named after Louis-Lazare Dajot, the military engineer who designed it. The avenues, is lined with elm trees, knee-high box hedges and lawns. The park took shape in 1769 and was built with labour from the port’s penal colony.
