At the archaeological site of Ancient Pydna, Pieria, Macedonia, Greece. In antiquity, it was probably the most important port of the Ancient Macedonians. During the Byzantine years it became a very important episcopal center known with the name "Kitros" or "Citrus" and a very important Basilica was built there, which later was "transformed" into a fort by the Francs.
