The use of flowers per capita has increased thirty times as fast as the population. And the continual erection of new ?* glass testifies to the belief of the grower that this dispropor- tionate increase in demand will continue. For the daily consumption of flowers in this region is still far below that of older communities; not a fraction of what it could be; or should be. This great increase in demand could never be absorbed with- out a great reserve to draw on at need. Chicago has always cheerfully assisted in taking care of this increase in business for the whole Mississippi Basin and without that help a thousand greenhouse and retail estab- lishments which started small could never have gathered up their own growth. And Chicago will always be ready to assist you in absorbing your increase as it comes.
