Over the course of those two weeks, the SPMAGTF-SC instructors taught classes that covered each of the Marine Corps Planning Process’s steps and the Marine Corps’ Rapid Response Planning Process. At the conclusion of the academics portion of the course, the Guatemalan students worked their way through two different crisis scenarios, applying the planning processes and products they had learned the week prior, to create and present operational plans for their commander. At the close of the course, the SPMAGTF instructors provided the students with course surveys, and conducted a graduation ceremony. The Guatemalan students provided the SPMAGTF instructors, in turn, with a plaque and certificates. The Marines and sailors of SPMAGTF-SC are conducting security cooperation training and engineering projects alongside partner nation military forces in Central and South America during SPMAGTF-SC’s six-month deployment to Central America. The unit is also trained and prepared to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief throughout the region in the event of a crisis.
