J., and overseas with the sameorganization. He participated in the engagement at St. Mihiel, in the Ar-gonne offensive, and was gassed in action at Grandpre, France, October21, 1918. WALTER, STANLEY ACKERMAN, attended the Second ReserveOfficers Training Camp, Chattanooga, Tenn., and at Fort Oglethorpe, was commissioned first lieutenant, November 27, 1917, and assigned tothe 55th U. S. Infantry, 7th Division. He remained with Company M, ofthis regiment, during the entire period of his service overseas, from August3, 1918, to June 20, 1919, and was discharged June 30, 1920.
