Business in general is good. There have been a number of funerals dur- ing the last week. Everybody got a share of the work. A succession of dark days has made flowers of all kinds scarce and high-priced. There has been an exceptionally good demand for roses and carnations. Tulips are more' plenti- ful than they have been. Bulbous stock of all kinds has sold well. Various Notes. Joseph V. Peirce is cutting some splendid Killarney roses. His Lady Hil- lingdons also are doing well, consider- ing the weather. Eichard Nofftz reports business not 80 brisk as it might be. Julius Rusitzky, of the Flower Mart, has been doing an excellent business in ?cut flowers. The store of William P. Peirce, on Pleasant street, is soon to be enlarged. The addition will give him another large show window. Mr. Peirce is do- ing a lively business, as usual. Post & Gray furnished the palms used in the decoration of the hall for the Knights of Columbus ball, Janu- ary 27. S. E. Shaw, of Kempton street, is sending in some first-class Spencer sweet peas. He has given up the grow- ing of vegetables almost entirely. Mr. Shaw is just completing a new 40x100 house, which he will plant to sweet peas this week. W. M. P. TAREYTOWN, N. Y.
