Sweat bee (family Halictidae) on human skin. These bees are so called because they are attracted to the salts found in human perspiration. They are common in most of the world except for Australia and some areas of Southeast Asia, where they are rarer. Sweat bees are annoying but harmless, and although females can sting when pressed, it is almost painless.
