Cutaneous horn. Small cutaneous horn on the scalp of a 94-year-old male patient. Cutaneous horns are tumorous growths that result from an overgrowth of the skin protein keratin. They are most often benign (non-cancerous) but may be malignant (cancerous) or pre-malignant (pre-cancerous). Treatment is with surgical removal.
