This illustration in Sir Henry Yule's "The Book of Marco Polo published in 1871. The scene is of Aden Albuquerque in 1513. The Portuguese held control of Aden from 1513 to 1538 and 1547-1548. The description in Yule's book reads: Attempted escalade of Aden [a port city in what is today Yemen] under the Portuguese general Albuquerque. It is actually a copy of a large contemporary wood engraving in the Map Department of the British Museum supposed to have been executed at Antwerp. Size of the original (in 6 sheets) 42 1/2 inches by 19 1/2 inches.
