History The very first Trabant car to be thrown away after the fall of the Berlin Wall in summer 1990
The rubbish tip of history seldom was more visible than here in 1990 in the Jerusalemer street in East Berlin. This is the first Trabant ever that got thrown away. With the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 the throw away society came to East Berlin. The Trabant car proudly produced by the DDR and proudly waited for for up to 10 years by the proud workers of East Germany suddenly fell out of grace after the influx of western cars in the summer of 1990 .The Sachsenring factory would still produce Trabants well into 1991 when it closed down.
