Janice Deynes operates the Granja Avicola Pujols, a layers eggs production in San Sebastian, PR as part of the Farm Service Agency (FSA) Livestock Indemnity Program. Because of the significant reduction in egg production, Deynes and other producers in Puerto Rico are at risk of losing control of their very own market, with more and more egg imports arriving from off the island.
