Rhinophyma of the nose of a 42-year-old man. In this dermatological condition, sebaceous glands become over-active, causing the nose to become excessively oily, along with telangiectases (spider veins) and nose hypertrophy. Hypertrophic large nodular masses are centered over the distal half of the nose. Hugely dilated follicles contain long vermicular plugs of sebum and keratin. The histologic features are pilosebaceous gland hyperplasia with fibrosis, inflammation, and telangiectasia.
