Claes Pietersz. Bercham. Cow Relieving Itself. 1640–1683. Holland. Etching on ivory laid paper Son of the well-known still-life painter Pieter Claesz., Berchem probably went to Italy about 1653/55. He became famous as an Italianate artist specializing in arcadian landscapes. He made about sixty prints, which are notable for the rendering of sunlight.
