A late Gothic crossbow cranequin, presumably Nuremberg, 1st half of the 16th century Small, angular iron gear box with a brass mark on the top, completely effaced by cleaning, likely to have been the Nuremberg proof mark. Master's mark with a stylised fleur de lys stamped on the side. The back fitted with a woven cord anchor. Straight crank arm with a rotating iron handle.
