Its weight is 44^ carats, andits colour is the blue of the most beautiful sapphire,added to an adamantine lustre of the utmost bril-liancy. It was purchased for $83,700, but com-petent judges declare that it is worth more. ENGRAVING UPON THE DIAMOND. Notwithstanding its wonderful hardness, the dia-mond has been engraved.
