To stimulate the interurban traffic a park knownas Woodlake has been established about midway between the twocities. The property consists of a 50-acre tract, the natural beau-ties of which have been enhanced by the skill of the landscape gar-dener. In the center of the park is a lake covering some 10 acres,whose gleaming surface surrounded by its wooded borders lendsgreatly to the picturesqueness of the scenery and to the delight ofthe visitor. Two pavilions have been erected in Woodlake, one forthe while and the other for tlic colored patrons of the park, in. INTRKURBAN CAR. DENISON & SHERMAN CAR CO. The policy of the Mining Engineers is to maintain a secretarysoffice only, and the Electrical Engineers do the same, through mo-tives of economy, however, as they have been raising a buildingfund for some time past. The Naval Architects and Marine Engi-neers Society is a tenant of the Mechanical Engineers house. The plan outlined by our contemporary does not contemplate anyunion of the societies, but simply an engineering building adequateto the needs of all and worthy of the commanding position heldby the profession. Such a building should contain one large audi-ence hall, a union library in which the ownership of the booksshould be kept separate, suital)le offices for the office force of eachsociety and the requisite number of sleeping rooms. A specialadvantage of this arrangement would be the union library, whichwould soon grow to be an invaluable means of reference. The planmight also be enlarged to i
