Mechanical appliances, mechanical movements and novelties of construction; a complete work and a continuation, as a second volume, of the author's book entitled "Mechanical movements, powers and devices" ... including an explanatory chapter on the leading conceptions of perpetual motion existing during the past three centuries. n annular tihing tray, whiclt^ forms the orbit for a revolving ball,in combination with a supportingplatform, and with a lever which ex-tends into the tray and connects witha shaft, to which motion is to be im-parted in such a manner that, bycontinually changing the position ofthe tray, the ball is caused to rotatetherein without interruption, and bythe action of the rotatins; ball on thelever the desired motion is impartedto the shaft, which connects with the working mechanism to be represents a tray, which forms an annular path for the ball B. Thistray is made of sheet metal, or any other suitable material, and its diam-eter is about four times that of the ball B. It is supported in its centerby a rod, which connects, by a ball-and-socket joint, C, with a platform,D, so that said tray can be readily tilted in any desired direction. Fromthe edge of the platform, D, rises a circular rim, E, which prevents thetray from being tilted any lower than desirable. U. S. patent, 374 PERPETUAL MOTION.
