Plenty of sunsliine is producing a sur- plus of carnations and sweet peas, and it is said that some of the growers are disposing of great l)atches of their poorer stock to the department stores. Bulbous stock is plentiful and good, except tulips. Cinerarias and genistas are abundant and of unusually good quality. Boston ferns, especially Whit- mani, are hard to find. Greens of all kinds are scarce. Various Notes. Miss Mary llartnett has moved into her new store. The Wealthy Avenue Floral Co. re- ports business good. Eli Cross says there is no reason to complain of poor business. Henry Smith has been busy with fu- neral work for several prominent fu- nerals. A. F. C. NEWARK, N. J. The Market. Last week there was a greater influx of spring flowers than during any week this season, some kinds which had not appeared before being among the ar- rivals. As a consequence prices are most reasonable. Much potted stock is coming in, including tulips, hyacinths, crocuses, mountain laurel, roses, hydran- geas and rhododendrons. Carnations are plentiful at present. Easter lilies are abundant, though now some of the growers arc holding them back for Easter sales. Various Notes. Fred P. Wolfinger reports business good.
