Snow freshly fallen converts a picnic area into a memory now dominated and replaced by a formal pattern tied to an invisible vanishing point; the pattern of a snow covered fence reinforces the design of the tables and benches with an extended pattern of squares all rushing out-of-doors to the same vanishing point. Contrasted with the dappled shadows on the virgin snow, what was a set of practical objects become an austerely formal design.
