The manufacture of wooden boxes and packing casesfor all purposes is well represented in Indianapolis bythe Indianapolis Box Factory, of which Mr. Fred Dietzis the able and popular proprietor. Mr. Dietz. of Germany, who came to this city in 1847. In 18C» heembarked in his present line of business and so rapidand marked was his success that he soon found it neces-sary to increase his plant. In 1871 therefore he erectedhis present three-story brick factory, which is 60x100and two-story annex 40x75 feet in dimensions. Thepremises utilized cover an area of three and one-halfacres at the south end of Delaware street, along thetrack of the P. C. C. & St. L. Ry. Company.
