Equivalent to the Lacertilia Yera of Boulengerl; the Ehiptoglossa being reckoned as a group of equal rank. Pig. 52 shows the lateral aspect of the Lacertilian pectoral girdle, exclusive of the clavicle and interclaviele. Family AGAMIM]. Temporal arcade and postorbital bar complete; supratemporal fossa not roofed over by bone; premaxillas separate. Dentition acrodont. Vertebrae without zygosphenes. Genus CHLAMYDOSAURUS, Gray2. The tympanum distinct. CfylamgttogauruS fcmgf, Gray8. The only species. Hob. Australia. E. 495. Portions of a skull, provisionally referred to this species; from the Pleistocene of Gowrie, Queensland. This spe- cimen has been named 0. bennetti by Owen in MS., but it docs not appear to show any characters by which it can be distinguished from the living form.
