The Leek is very hardy, and easily cultivated ; it succeeds best in a light but well-enriched soil. Sow as early in spring as practicable, in drills one inch deep and one foot apart. When six or eight inches high, transplant in rows ten inches spart each way, as deep as possible, that the neck, being covered, may be blanched. LARGE AMERICAN FLAG.
