Lutz deservessevere criticism; in order to have titling candidates ForVarsity teams, class teams should be supported rather thandiscouraged. Such a spirit as was shown last fall will intime effectually kill Purdues standing in football circles,and it is to be hoped that in the future the faculty will takean interest in matters of such vital importance to theUniversity. 271 THE 5RIS 1906.
