Cave woodlouse. Close-up of an Armadillidium sp. woodlouse found only in the Movile Cave, Romania. Life in this cave has been cut off from the outside world for the past million years. This species of terrestrial crustacean has evolved in total darkness over that time and has lost its eyes and skin colouring as a result. Its finds its way around using only its antennae.
