Common Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) with a hunted House mouse (Mus musculus). This bird of prey is a member of the falcon (Falconidae) family, and is found throughout Britain, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. It is found anywhere there is open land for hunting, including city centres. The common kestrel preys on small animals and birds. It supplements its diet with insects and worms during the winter.
