How glorious it is to shoot a rapid when onefeels that there is no absolute danger of beingcrushed as long as every muscle and nerve arealert! It is an exhilarating sport, to my mindequalled by none. Perhaps the sensations offlying are similar, but I cannot imagine that theyare more exciting, than those of shooting a swiftAmazonian rapid.
